SASSA SRD Grant

The South African Social Security Agency’s upcoming payment dates for January 2023 have been confirmed.

All Type of Grants

Besides SRD 350 grants that were introduced 2 years ago, there are many types of grants that The South African Social Security Agency is providing to South Africans.

Disability Grant

Individuals with a physical or mental impairment that prevents them from working for more than six months are eligible for this grant.

If a person’s condition persists over a continuous period of 6 to 12 months or longer, they are eligible for a temporary disability payment; if it persists for more than a year, they are eligible for a permanent grant.

It’s vital to understand that a permanent disability award just means that it will last for more than a year, not that you will get it forever.

A disability grant may be paid out up to R1 990 every month.

Pensioners Grant

People who are elderly (60 years or more) and are unable to work and get a wage are eligible for this stipend.

Older than 75-year-olds will earn R2 010 each month, while those between 60 and 75 would receive R1 990.

SRD Grant

The SRD is intended for South African nationals between the ages of 18 and 60 who are also refugees, asylum seekers, and special permit holders.

These people must not be contributing to or eligible for UIF payments, receive any social grants, have the appropriate resources, and have no other sources of income to be eligible for this grant.

This grant will is R350 each month.

Child Support Grant

You may be eligible for a grant to support you in raising your child if you are in need of money.

You will need to meet the means test requirements and be the kid’s major caregiver (a parent, grandparent, or child over the age of 16 leading the household).

For each child, you will earn R450 each month.

You will get R720 per month for each orphaned child for whom you are the primary carer.

Foster Child Support

You are also qualified to apply for a grant if you have a foster child.

A foster child is a child who the court has ordered you to take care of because they have been orphaned, abandoned, mistreated, vulnerable, or neglected.

The monthly foster child support payment is R 1 070 for each child.

Care Dependency Grant

This scholarship is for those who are caring for kids who have severe impairments and may need full-time, specialized care.

This grant provides R1 990 per month for each child and covers them from the time of their birth until the age of majority, which is 18.

Grant-In-Aid

This aid is provided to those who are dependent on social assistance yet are unable to care for themselves.

The full-time caregiver will be compensated with this extra award, which works up to R450 per month.
