The Lion and Safari Park began as a wildlife conservation enclosure for lions in South Africa’s Gauteng area.<\/p>\n

The park moved to new 600-hectare grounds in the Cradle of Humankind in the North West province in 2016.<\/p>\n

The park is located just north of Lanseria Airport, close to Johannesburg and Pretoria.<\/p>\n

It is home to a wide range of predators and huge herbivores that are native to Africa.<\/p>\n

The Lion & Safari Park is residence to around 80 lions, including the great white lions, as well as numerous other carnivores such as the South African cheetah, Cape wild dog, brown and spotted hyenas, black-backed jackal, and a diverse range of antelope that walk freely in the antelope region.<\/p>\n

The antelope section is distinct from the lions and other predators, and contains giraffe, warthog, blesbok, wildebeest, impala, gemsbok, and zebra.<\/p>\n

Within five tiny domes, the new park has a children’s play area, caf\u00e9s, conference facilities, and a shopping center, in addition to the animal cages.<\/p>\n

Giraffes, ostriches, and antelope can also be fed by hand.<\/p>\n

The park also provides Lion and Cheetah walks twice a day, in which guests follow the animal for a brief stroll throughout the park with the assistance of a park employee.<\/p>\n
